ABOUT

The Symposium on Arctic Cinema is a two-day event hosted by the Department of Art and Media Studies (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), in Trondheim, Norway, with the support of the Faculty of Humanities and the The Institute for Comparative Research in Human Culture, in Oslo. The goal is to gather a number of film culture scholars whose work is key to discuss and udnerstand various forms and expressions of cinema made above the Arctic circle.

The Symposium will take place on 21-22 November, 2016. The presence of the keynote speakers Anna Stenport and Scott MacKenzie, proponents of the original concept of Arctic Cinema, is confirmed and the Symposium proceedings will be published in Cinema Scandinavia.
